| If you're looking for a traditional Maine fishing adventure pursuing wild brook trout and landlocked salmon, you will not be dissapointed fishing with me. Regardless of if you want to stay and fish for a day or a week you will have an adventure that you will remember for years to come. My best day guiding an older gentleman for brook trout (2011) we lost count on how many he caught and realeased somewhere in the mid 40's. We have numerous fly fishing only ponds near the outpost camps which make for a unique and rewarding experience. Depending on the conditions and the preference of the fisherman, I generally pursue these fish by traveling the miles of wilderness logging roads, stopping at the wilderness streams and brooks and working along their banks until we lose interest, then we go down the road to the next. I also like to take the 14' flat bottom boat or my canoe to access some of the remote ponds and lakes in the area. This method works exceptionally well for the fly fishermen as it creates an open area for a long cast. As many of you know half the fun is getting there, so make sure you bring your camera because we are sure to see some beautiful scenery, as well as wildlife including moose, eagles and loons. On this trip we usually meet at my cabin in Pittsfield (exit 150 on I-95) then we drive further northwest into the wilderness towards my remote outpost camps. If this is a day trip it will include lunch along the shore and transportation. If you choose one of the longer trips it will include all meals, lodging and transportation. You will stay the night in one of our private camps and are welcome to bring friends or family members along. |
